1989 – Master Degree in Biological Sciences, summa cum laude, University of Naples Federico II

1997 – PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Pathology, University of Naples Federico II

 

Gabriella De Vita is Full Professor of Medical Genetics at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Medical Biotechnology of the School of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Naples Federico II. At the integrated care department (DAI) of Laboratory and Transfusion Medicine of the AOU Federico II she is responsible for a program of non-invasive prenatal screening. At CEINGE Advanced Biotechnology she is responsible for molecular diagnosis by NGS for the following pathologies: Epilepsies and epileptic encephalopathies; Parkinson's, parkinsonisms, dystonias and dementias; Ataxias and hereditary spastic paraparesis. She is also responsible for molecular diagnosis of Developmental Diseases.

Research lines

Non-coding RNAs in the regulation of gene expression in cancer and development.

Study of the molecular basis of rare genetic diseases, with particular attention to epilepsies and movement disorders.
