Giovanna Gallo is a biologist specializing in Clinical Biochemistry with extensive experience in Expanded Newborn Screening for inherited metabolic diseases. Since 2018, she has worked at CEINGE – Biotecnologie Avanzate Gaetano Salvatore in Naples, where she serves as a Clinical Biochemistry Specialist and, since 2022, as Laboratory Supervisor. She currently is one of the technical coordinators at the CEINGE Laboratory of the Regional Center for Newborn Screening (Campania Region), headed by Professor Margherita Ruoppolo.

After graduating with a master's degree in Biological Sciences (Federico II University of Naples, 2007), she obtained a specialization in Clinical Biochemistry with honors in 2016, with a thesis on urinary biomarkers in organic acidemias. She has acquired advanced skills in the use of tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS and GC-MS), particularly for the determination of organic acids, amino acids, and acylcarnitines in biological samples, both for screening and diagnostic confirmation.

Her scientific activity is documented by numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals and participation in national projects and conferences in the fields of inherited metabolic diseases and clinical metabolomics. She has also contributed to the development of diagnostic methods for the detection of metabolic disorders in newborns.

Registered with the Register of Biologists (section A), Dr. Gallo possesses solid organizational, communication, and technical skills, which she applies daily in a multidisciplinary context characterized by high technological and scientific complexity.
