The 20th International Conference of the Italian Proteomics Association (ItPA)

The Italian Proteomics Association (ItPA) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 20th International Conference, organized in collaboration with the Serbian Proteomics Association (SePA) and the Hellenic Proteomics Society (HPS).
The event will take place on 10–11 September 2026 at CEINGE – Advanced Biotechnology Franco Salvatore, a leading research center located in Naples, Italy.

The preliminary program, now available online, features a distinguished lineup of internationally renowned invited speakers, who will present cutting-edge advances in proteomics, metabolomics, systems biology, neuroinflammation, and food biochemistry.

Invited Speakers

  • Marta Cascante – University of Barcelona, Spain
    A pioneer in the development of experimental methods for metabolic flux analysis using isotopic tracers (¹³C), applied to the study of metabolic reprogramming in cancer with the aim of identifying new therapeutic targets and overcoming drug resistance.
  • Anna Picca – LUM University, Casamassima (BA), Italy
    Expert in the molecular mechanisms of aging, with a specific focus on mitochondrial processes.
  • Peter Ponsaerts – University of Antwerpen, Belgium
    Internationally recognized for his work on neuroinflammation, immunotherapy, and tissue engineering, including advanced 3D neurospheroid models derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
  • Tanja Ćirković Veličković – University of Belgrade, Serbia
    A leading figure in food biochemistry and proteomics, food allergens, and the impact of micro- and nano-plastics as environmental contaminants.
  • Fabrizio Dal Piaz – University of Salerno, Italy
    Renowned for his research on protein–ligand interactions and the application of proteomics and metabolomics to the study of physio-pathological processes.

The scientific program will also include 16 oral presentations, selected from submitted abstracts, and 16 flash presentations delivered by participants of the theoretical–practical Summer School “The Omics Lab: a Practical School in Proteomics and Metabolomics.”

The deadline for Early Registration and Abstract Submission is 6 July 2026.

Important Information for Summer School Participants
The registration fee for the Summer School “The Omics Lab: a Practical School in Proteomics and Metabolomics” includes participation in the Conference.
Participants already enrolled in the School are therefore automatically registered for the Conference and are required to pay only the ItPA annual membership fee (20 €).
